gesha

Tabacona Washed Gesha

A well-defined and elegant Peruvian Gesha, offering long floral aromatics, clean acidity, minerality and a light silky body.

At the turn of the 20th century, coffee farmers in Cajamarca faced difficult times. International coffee prices had collapsed, and many producers were already struggling with limited infrastructure and access to markets.

At the same time, a new opportunity began to take shape. Demand for high-quality, certified coffee was rising, and NGOs identified coffee as a crop with the potential to drive sustainable rural development. Cajamarca, with its ideal climate, fertile soils, and deep agricultural heritage, offered the perfect conditions for this investment to take root.

Over the following decades, Cajamarca was transformed. It is now recognised as Peru’s leading region for specialty coffee, consistently performing at the top of the prestigious Cup of Excellence competition.

Today, Cajamarca faces a different kind of challenge—inspiring younger generations to see a future in coffee. Producers like Theilor Cruz embody that commitment. His work reflects both the progress that has been made and the passion needed to sustain it into the future.
