Rwandan coffee at its best, offering notes of spice and stewed fruit alongside pleasant acidity.

Agriculture is a central part of life in Rwanda, with about 90% of the population engaged in some form of cultivation, much of it subsistence farming. This coffee was processed at the Mbilima washing station, run by the Musasa Dukunde Kawa cooperative. The cooperative was part of the PEARL programme, which helped shift the Rwandan coffee sector’s focus from quantity to quality. The station brings together coffee cherries grown by smallholder farmers, most of whom farm less than a quarter of a hectare of land.
