A unique cup from Ethiopia with pleasant green acidity and a light-body, beautifully integrated by a crisp minerality.

Mikiyas Bogale inherited a washing station from his father in 2020 and now works with producers in the Idido area of Yirgacheffe. Ethiopian coffee is remarkable in that, despite the limited mechanisation and infrastructure compared with countries like Brazil, it continues to produce exceptional quality. Much of this is due to the extraordinary genetic diversity of its coffee plants, which gives rise to complex and distinctive flavour profiles. This diversity is further supported by work from the Jimma Agricultural Research Centre, developing disease-resistant varieties while preserving cup quality.
