La Cinta Caturra Natural

A supremely sweet, bold and fruity cup of this Natural Caturra lot.

Found in the hills of the Planadas municipality of Colombia’s Tolima department, the family farm of Nolberto Olaya has been producing beautiful coffees for many years, and in 2018 a decision was taken to diversify the production of the farm. All onsite quality controls are now undertaken at La Cinta’s lab, utilising a one-barrel roaster and cupping stations run by Nolberto’s nephew, a qualified CQI Q Grader.

Nolberto stresses the use of on-site, organic materials to create fertiliser, producing a mix of calcium-rich ash, mulch and earthworms as well as coffee pulp and sugar-cane molasses. The process is intensive, but allows a quality yield from each of the farm’s crops every single season.
